Paying in instalments

Paying for subsidence repairs in Yorkshire

Cracks that point to subsidence rarely arrive at a convenient time. Before any work starts, it helps to know which route will cover the bill: your buildings policy, your own funds, or monthly instalments arranged through a finance broker.

Start with your buildings insurer

Many UK buildings policies list subsidence as an insured event. Read your schedule for the subsidence excess, which is often higher than the standard one, and report movement early.

Homeowners with a current buildings policy and fresh cracking in the main structure.

Fund the gap from savings

Items such as the excess, garden walls, outbuildings or extras you choose to add may sit outside a claim. Paying these directly keeps things simple once the quote is agreed.

Households with funds set aside to meet costs a claim will not pick up.

Monthly payments via a finance broker

If a lump sum is hard to find for underpinning, resin injection or wall stabilisation, you can ask to be referred to a finance broker to look at spreading the cost.

Owners who would rather pay in instalments than settle the whole bill at once.

Finance arranged through a broker

Yorkshire Subsidence Experts does not lend money. If you want to spread the cost of repairs, we can pass your details to a finance broker, which is a separate company and not part of this business. Any application you make goes to that broker, and it is the broker, alongside the lenders on its panel, who reviews your circumstances and makes the decision. We play no part in that choice. Approval cannot be assumed: an application may be turned down after credit and affordability checks. Should the referral result in an agreement, Yorkshire Subsidence Experts may be paid a commission by the broker. Rates and terms come from the broker alone, so read them closely and only borrow an amount you can repay comfortably.
